Welcome.  I am excited about this semester in which we will focus on different genres of literature.  This is a combination English IV Honors and AP English course.  We will do most of our work together.  There will be more required of the AP English students; however, the work that is required of the honors is still very rigorous and intense.    Commit yourself now to diligence and hard work and the semester will be successful.  I have high expectations for behavior, participation, class work, and homework.  Writing and reading are required and necessary parts of this class and life.  Develop those skills now to ensure success in this class and in your future.

English IV is a required course for all seniors and at the end of the semester you will take a teacher made exam.  Weekly reading and writing are requirements.  Focus now to graduate strong.

We will keep folders of your work that will document your work and your progress through the semester.

Please keep this sheet and bring it back with your parent’s signature.
