Welcome. I am excited about this semester in which we will focus on different genres of literature. Commit yourself now to diligence and hard work and the semester will be successful. I have high expectations for behavior, participation, class work, and homework. Writing and reading are required and necessary parts of this class and life. Develop those skills now to ensure success in this class and in your future.
English I is a required course for all freshmen and at the end of the semester you will take a State mandated End of Course (EOC) exam. If you do not make the appropriate state established grade at that time you will have to retake the test and possibly the course.
We will keep folders of your work that will document your work and your progress through the semester.
Please keep this sheet and bring it back with your parents signature.
